We all know aggressive Google has been in promoting their products and services. The search giant is facing tough competition with local competitors in some parts of the world reportedly Japan, Korea & Russia. Japan is the world's third biggest internet population; this means Google is losing out on a big chunk of users.
It is not new that world players have to work out different strategies to tap into local markets and gain over local competitors who have built trust and relationship with their users over the years. In recent months Google has done loads of promotions by rolling out online ads, offline promotions and several services which are specific to Japan. Google has also started to pay bloggers who write nice things about Google on their blogs.
With the stiff competition the search giant is not leaving any stone unturned to capture the local market and gain popularity over local competitors. It would be interesting to see who wins the trust and confidence in the end.
